On 10 April 2025, EITA proudly continued its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by hosting a Health Talk with renowned integrative medicine expert, Dr. Eddie Chan. This initiative is part of our ongoing effort to foster a healthier, more vibrant workplace—one where well-being is at the heart of our company culture.
As a key part of our company-wide wellness campaign, all staff were invited to attend this impactful session. More than just a talk, the event served as a powerful catalyst to inspire positive lifestyle changes that extend beyond office walls.

Dr. Eddie Chan, a respected authority in lifestyle and functional medicine, shared transformative insights on how to improve overall health through sustainable, everyday habits. Blending the best of modern medicine and nutritional science, his holistic approach focuses on managing stress, increasing energy, and preventing chronic illnesses through the healing power of food.

Central to his message was the concept that “Food is medicine.” Dr. Eddie advocates a nutritional vegetarian lifestyle, one built around whole, plant-based foods—such as fruits, vegetables, legumes, seeds, nuts, and whole grains. These foods not only nourish the body but also reduce inflammation and support the body’s natural healing processes.
One of the key highlights of the session was Dr. Eddie’s comparison of protein sources, particularly between animal-based options like chicken, beef, and fish, and plant-based alternatives. He emphasized how cleaning vegetables, though often seen as more laborious, is actually more effective in removing contaminants, whereas washing meat only cleans the surface and does not eliminate internal impurities. He also shed light on Toxoplasma gondii—a commonly overlooked parasite found in meat—that can have serious health impacts, especially as we age or if our immune system becomes compromised.

“You don’t have to eat less. You just have to eat right,” said Dr Chan. “When we eat better, we live better. Nutrition is the foundation of true health. What’s good for your body is also good for the planet. Health and sustainability go hand in hand,” he concluded.
At EITA, we recognize that employee wellness is essential to our success. By learning from Dr. Eddie’s practical, science-backed approach, we are taking steps to create a workplace that values both professional excellence and personal well-being.

We thank everyone who participated and encourage all staff to continue making health-conscious choices that support a better, more balanced life. Together, let’s shift from illness to wellness—one plant-powered plate at a time.
